February 26, 2024 - Pieper High School junior Holt Miller is a state finalist and international qualifier for the third year in a row. Miller and 27 fellow PHS members of Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) competed in the Texas DECA State Career Development Conference February 15-17 in Houston where he advanced to the next round with his business growth plan.
Miller, who became the international champion in this category last year, will defend his title during the DECA International Career Development Conference April 27-30 in Anaheim, California. Read more here.
A Career & Technical Education (CTE) student organization, DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management.
Several PHS students will join Miller at the International conference this year including Sydney McHenry and Casen Jacobson who will represent the campus after the PHS DECA officer team earned two spots in the leadership academy at the conference with its chapter’s campaign initiatives. In addition, Meaghan Smith, who is a district officer, will attend as a voting delegate.
